Prayer Sealed lets you delete your account and its data from inside the app, at any time. This page explains how, what is removed, and what is not.
You delete your account from within the app. There is no web form, because Prayer Sealed has no username-and-password login — your account exists only on your device, secured by a passphrase we never receive.
From the app:
Deletion happens immediately. There is no grace period and no way to recover your account afterward.
When you delete your account, the following are permanently removed from our servers:
Deletion runs on our servers, not just on your phone. Uninstalling the app does not delete your account.
Some things cannot be removed, and we would rather tell you plainly than let you discover it later.
Prayers and praise you already shared. If you shared a prayer with a partner or a group, that prayer stays where you shared it. It remains readable to those people, shown as coming from “[deleted account]”. We do not delete it because doing so would remove it from their prayer lists — content someone has been praying over, possibly for months.
Encouragements and responses you left on other people's prayers. These live with that person's content and remain there.
Your device verification records. Each device you used published a public verification record so recipients could confirm that content genuinely came from you. We keep these, because deleting them would make the content you already sent unreadable to the people you sent it to — rather than simply unattributed.
Records of revoked devices. Kept permanently, so a device that was removed can never be reinstated.
Records other people made about you. If someone saved a note about you as a partner, blocked you, or reported content, those records belong to them and stay in their account.
This is a consequence of end-to-end encryption, not a policy choice. Content that has already been delivered to another person cannot be recalled.
Account deletion is immediate. Nothing about your account is held in a queue or a recycle bin.
A small number of records that mention you in other people's data — pending group join requests, for example — expire automatically within seven days.
If you are the only leader of a prayer group, you must close that group before you can delete your account.
Closing a group removes it for everyone in it, and cannot be undone. Leadership cannot be transferred to another member, so closing the group is the only way through. If you can, tell your members before you do it.
Prayer Sealed uses anonymous authentication. There is no email address or phone number attached to your account, and any contact details you entered are encrypted so that we cannot read them.
This means we cannot identify your account, and we cannot delete it for you.
If you still have your Recovery ID and your 12-word passphrase, or your exported recovery kit file, you can recover your account on a new device and then delete it using the steps above:
If you no longer have those, there is no path — not through us, not through support. The account will remain, unreadable to everyone including us, until you recover it.
We know this is a hard answer. It is the direct cost of a design where we hold no key to your prayers.
